Chandigarh number plate guide: HSRP full form, cost and fuel stickers
A chandigarh number plate starts with CH 01, CH 02, CH 03 or CH 04, all issued by the single Chandigarh registering office. Like every plate in India it must be an HSRP, short for High Security Registration Plate, with a hologram, laser code and IND mark. HSRP costs roughly Rs 420 to Rs 800 plus GST depending on vehicle type and state.
Key takeaways
- HSRP full form is High Security Registration Plate: an aluminium plate with a chromium hologram, a laser-etched number and snap-lock rivets.
- A Chandigarh number plate uses CH 01 to CH 04; series letter T marks trucks and G marks government vehicles.
- Delhi drops the leading zero (DL 1, not DL 01) and uses series letters such as C for cars and S for two-wheelers.
- The HSRP number plate cost is usually Rs 420 to Rs 480 for a bike and Rs 690 to Rs 800 for a car, before GST.
- Four-wheelers also carry a colour coded fuel sticker: light blue for petrol and CNG, orange for diesel.
- Buy plates only through the state transport booking link; HD, 3D and fancy plates sold online are not HSRP.

What is a Chandigarh number plate?
A Chandigarh number plate is a registration plate issued by the union territory of Chandigarh, recognised by the state code CH followed by 01, 02, 03 or 04. It follows the same national format and the same HSRP rules as any other plate, so the code is what sets it apart.

One office, four codes
Chandigarh is a single-district territory, so one registering and licensing authority issues every number. The four codes are series opened one after another as numbers ran out, not four separate offices as in a large state.
Why tricity traffic looks mixed
Mohali sits in Punjab and Panchkula in Haryana, so on Chandigarh roads you see CH, PB and HR plates side by side every day. A PB 01 plate is a Punjab taxi code, which adds to the mix.
Chandigarh car number plate: which codes do you see?
On a Chandigarh car number plate you will see CH, then one of the four office numbers, then one or two series letters and a four-digit number, for example CH 01 AB 1234. Private cars use black letters on white; taxis use black on yellow.
Older and newer series
Older private cars mostly carry CH 01 or CH 02. Newer registrations have moved into later series, so a CH 04 car is usually more recent than a CH 01 one, though choice numbers can break that pattern.
Fancy numbers in Chandigarh
Chandigarh auctions its popular numbers. A CH01 CB 0001 number sold for Rs 5.45 lakh in 2020, and CH01 CV 0001 fetched Rs 24.30 lakh in 2024. Our VIP number plate price guide explains how bidding works.
How do you read a Chandigarh vehicle number plate?
Read a Chandigarh vehicle number plate left to right: CH is the territory, the two digits show the code series, the letters show the series within it and the last four digits are the unique number. The small IND mark and hologram on the left confirm that it is an HSRP.
What each part tells police
The state code and digits tell an officer where the record sits in Vahan. The series letters can also hint at the vehicle’s use, because some letters are reserved for particular categories.
Where the same number appears
The same mark is printed on the RC, stored in Vahan and repeated on the windscreen sticker of a four-wheeler. If any of these disagree, the plate or the record needs correcting at the RTO.
Chandigarh no plate series letters: what do T and G mean?
On a Chandigarh no plate, the series letter T is used for trucks and G for government vehicles. Other letters run in order for private and commercial registrations, so only a handful carry a special meaning.
Spotting a government vehicle
A plate such as CH 01 G-series belongs to a vehicle registered to a government department. It still carries a normal HSRP; the department, not the driver, is the registered owner.
Why truck series are separate
Keeping goods vehicles in their own T series makes permit and tax checks quicker at check posts. It also keeps heavy-vehicle numbers from mixing with private car numbers.
Delhi number plate vs Chandigarh number plate: what differs?
The main difference between a Delhi number plate and a Chandigarh number plate is the office numbering. Delhi has many RTOs and drops the leading zero (DL 1, DL 2), while Chandigarh has one office using four codes. The HSRP design, colours and fonts are identical.
| Point | Delhi | Chandigarh |
|---|---|---|
| State code | DL | CH |
| Office numbers | DL 1, DL 2, DL 3 and more, no leading zero | CH 01 to CH 04 |
| Number of issuing offices | Several RTOs across districts | One registering authority |
| Special series letters | C cars, S two-wheelers, T city taxis | T trucks, G government |
| Plate type | HSRP with IND mark | HSRP with IND mark |
Same rules, different records
A vehicle moving from Delhi to Chandigarh keeps its DL number until it is re-registered after a NOC. The plate itself does not change shape or colour when the code changes.
What does a Delhi number plate look like?
A Delhi number plate reads DL, an RTO number without a leading zero, a series letter for the vehicle type and further letters and digits, for example DL 3C AB 1234. The extra type letter is a Delhi habit that most states do not follow.
Office numbers to know
DL 1 is Mall Road (North), DL 2 Tilak Marg (New Delhi) and DL 3 Sheikh Sarai (South). The rest follow district offices, and the code shows where the vehicle was first registered.
Mall Road exception
The Mall Road office registers only certain commercial categories, so a DL 1 plate with C or S is uncommon. That detail helps when you are checking a used vehicle’s history.
Delhi number plate letters: what do C, S and T mean?
On a Delhi plate, C means a car, S a two-wheeler and T a city taxi. Other letters include P for buses, R for autorickshaws and radio taxis, Y for private taxis and N for self-drive rentals. The letter comes straight after the RTO number.
| Letter | Vehicle type in Delhi |
|---|---|
| C | Cars |
| S | Two-wheelers |
| P | Buses |
| R | Autorickshaws and radio taxis |
| T | City taxis |
| Y | Private taxis |
| N | Self-drive vehicles |
| A | Ambulances |
| G and L | Trucks |
| K | School vehicles |
What F means
F marks private-vehicle numbers issued on demand, such as booked choice numbers. It does not mean a foreign or fancy plate.
Reading a mixed example
In DL 8S AB 1234, DL is Delhi, 8 is the RTO, S says two-wheeler and AB 1234 is the unique number. The same letters appear on the RC.
What is HSRP number plate full form?
The HSRP number plate full form is High Security Registration Plate. It is a tamper-proof aluminium registration plate with a chromium hologram, a laser-etched identification number and an IND mark, made only by authorised manufacturers and fixed with rivets that cannot be reused.

Why “high security”
The word security refers to features that make the plate hard to copy or swap, not to any extra insurance or legal status. A stolen car with its HSRP removed is easier to trace because the laser code links to the vehicle record.
Full form in Hindi
In Hindi the plate is usually called a high security number plate or suraksha registration plate. Our HSRP full form in Hindi page explains it in Hinglish.
Why HSRP number plate?
Why HSRP number plate? Because ordinary painted plates were easy to forge, swap and remove. HSRP ties a unique laser code to each plate and vehicle, so police can spot fake numbers, trace stolen vehicles and match the plate to the Vahan record in seconds.
The security problem it solved
Before HSRP, any roadside shop could paint a plate in any font. Criminals used cloned numbers on stolen cars, and cameras struggled with decorative lettering.
Better for cameras
A fixed font, size and retro-reflective film make plates easier for traffic cameras to read, which helps both e-challan systems and toll records.
What is HSRP Delhi?
What is HSRP Delhi? It is the same High Security Registration Plate used nationally, applied to DL-registered vehicles together with the colour coded fuel sticker. New vehicles get both from the dealer; older ones book them through the link on the Delhi Transport Department site.
Why Delhi is often in the news
Delhi was among the states the Supreme Court pulled up in 2011 for slow HSRP enforcement, and later used the fuel sticker to help pollution checks. That is why searches for HSRP often come from Delhi.
Where Delhi owners book
Follow the HSRP link on transport.delhi.gov.in rather than a search ad. Booking sites are run by plate makers’ associations, and look-alike sites exist.
What is the high security registration plates mandate?
The high security registration plates mandate is the national rule, under rule 50 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, that every vehicle must carry an HSRP. It was amended in 2005, and since 1 April 2019 manufacturers must supply HSRP and the third registration mark with every new vehicle.

What happened to older vehicles
The 2005 rule gave older vehicles two years, but rollout stalled while states appointed makers and court cases ran. Each state later set its own deadline, which is why dates differ; our HSRP number plate guide tracks state deadlines and documents.
The 2018 order
The Motor Vehicles (High Security Registration Plates) Order of 6 December 2018 set the detailed design. It applies alongside the amended rule 50.
Does an older Chandigarh car number plate need HSRP?
Yes. An older Chandigarh car number plate must also be an HSRP, because the national rule covers all vehicles. Cars bought after April 2019 already have one. For older cars, check the Chandigarh Transport Department site for the current booking link and any deadline before planning a challan-free switch.
What we could not verify
We did not find a confirmed Chandigarh deadline or fine for older vehicles from an official source, so we do not quote one. Neighbouring Haryana and Punjab require HSRP on all new and old vehicles.
What to keep ready
Keep the RC, the chassis and engine digits and a phone that can receive an OTP. The booking flow asks for these in most states.
How much is the HSRP number plate cost?
The HSRP number plate cost depends on the vehicle and the state. Reported rates are about Rs 420 to Rs 480 for a two-wheeler, Rs 450 to Rs 550 for a three-wheeler and Rs 690 to Rs 800 for a car or heavier vehicle, before GST. Maharashtra’s rates sit inside these ranges.

| Vehicle | Usual range in other states (plus GST) | Maharashtra (plus GST) |
|---|---|---|
| Two-wheeler and tractor | Rs 420 to Rs 480 | Rs 450 |
| Three-wheeler | Rs 450 to Rs 550 | Rs 500 |
| Car, LMV, medium and heavy vehicle | Rs 690 to Rs 800 | Rs 745 |
Why the range exists
Each state signs its own contract with authorised makers, so prices differ by a few rupees. GST is added on top, and home fitment adds a separate charge where offered.
Where the exact figure shows
Your state booking page shows the final amount after you enter the vehicle number. If the figure is far above these ranges, check that you are on the official link.
HSRP charges: what is included?
HSRP charges normally include the front and rear plates, the snap-lock rivets, the fuel sticker for four-wheelers and fitment at a centre. GST is added at checkout. Home fitment, a second visit or a replacement for a damaged plate are usually charged separately.
What is not included
Fancy frames, plate covers and bumper brackets are not part of the order. If you want a frame, choose one that leaves the hologram, IND mark and laser code fully visible, because many frames hide security marks.
Refunds and rescheduling
Most booking systems let you reschedule a slot. Refund rules vary by state, so read them before paying.
New number plate cost for an old vehicle
The new number plate cost for an old vehicle is the same HSRP rate as a fresh plate: roughly Rs 420 to Rs 480 for a bike and Rs 690 to Rs 800 for a car before GST. There is no separate “old vehicle” charge, but late fines can apply after a state deadline.
Replacing a damaged HSRP
If a plate breaks in an accident, book a replacement through the same portal. You may need a police report or a written reason, depending on the state.
Changing the number
A new plate does not give you a new number. Changing the number needs re-registration at the RTO, for example after a move to another state.
What is the new number plate price for cars?
The new number plate price for a car is about Rs 690 to Rs 800 plus GST in most states, and Rs 745 plus GST in Maharashtra. That covers both plates, the rivets and the fuel sticker. A new car from a dealer already includes the HSRP in its on-road price.
Petrol, diesel and CNG cars
The plate price is the same whatever the fuel. Only the sticker colour changes: light blue for petrol or CNG and orange for diesel.
Commercial cars and taxis
Taxis pay the same plate rate but get yellow plates with black letters, matching their transport registration.
Two wheeler number plate price: what bikes pay
The two wheeler number plate price for an HSRP is about Rs 420 to Rs 480 plus GST in most states, and Rs 450 plus GST in Maharashtra, including fitment at a centre. Scooters, motorcycles and mopeds pay the same rate because their plate sizes are the same.
Plate sizes for bikes
A two-wheeler’s rear plate is 20 cm by 10 cm and the front plate 28.5 cm by 4.5 cm. Fancy shapes that do not match these sizes cannot be HSRP.
Electric two-wheelers
An electric scooter pays the same plate rate but receives a green plate with white letters for private use.
Why is the bike no plate price lower than a car’s?
The bike no plate price is lower because the plates are smaller, use less aluminium and film, and a two-wheeler does not get a windscreen fuel sticker. That is why a bike HSRP costs roughly two-thirds of a car’s.
Tractors pay the bike rate
Maharashtra groups tractors with two-wheelers at Rs 450 plus GST, because their rear plate uses the same small size.
Watch out for “bike plate” deals
Shops advertising very cheap bike plates are usually selling painted or acrylic plates, which are not HSRP.
High security number plate price Uttar Pradesh: how to find it
For the high security number plate price Uttar Pradesh owners pay, start the booking from the UP Transport Department link and enter your number: the page shows the final rate with GST. Secondary sources give conflicting UP figures, so we do not quote one.
Expect the national range
UP prices should fall within the usual national range of about Rs 420 to Rs 800 plus GST by vehicle type. A much higher quote is a warning sign.
UP codes you may see
NCR codes UP 14 (Ghaziabad) and UP 16 (Noida) are common on Delhi roads, and they follow the same HSRP rules.
What is the IND no plate price?
There is no separate IND no plate price. The IND mark is part of every HSRP, so an “IND plate” costs the same as any HSRP for that vehicle type. A plate sold with IND painted on but no hologram or laser code is not genuine.
Where IND appears
IND is printed in light blue on the left of the plate, under the chromium hologram. It is a security feature, not a sign of foreign travel.
IND stickers on old plates
Sticking an IND decal on a painted plate does not make it legal. Only an authorised maker’s plate counts.
Can you buy car number plate online?
You can buy car number plate online only through your state’s official HSRP booking link, which sends the order to an authorised maker. Shopping sites that sell “custom” or “designer” plates cannot supply a valid HSRP with a laser code tied to your vehicle.
- Open the booking link. Go to your state or UT transport department site and follow its HSRP booking link.
- Enter vehicle details. Type the registration number and the last digits of the chassis and engine numbers from the RC.
- Choose fitment. Pick a dealer or fitment centre, or home fitment where offered, and a date and time slot.
- Pay online. Pay the plate and sticker charge with GST and save the receipt or booking slip.
- Get the plates fitted. Bring the RC and receipt; the fitter fixes both plates with snap-lock rivets and the sticker on the windscreen.
Tracking the order
After paying, you can follow the order on the booking site. Our HSRP status guide covers what each stage means.
State booking examples
In Maharashtra, bookings go through region-wise links on the transport site. See our Maharashtra HSRP number plate registration guide for the exact steps.
Where should you buy number plates?
Buy number plates only from the dealer of a new vehicle or from an authorised HSRP fitment centre booked through the state link. Roadside painters and online shops cannot legally produce HSRP, and their plates can be treated as non-standard.

Dealers for new vehicles
From April 2019, dealers fit HSRP before delivery. If your new vehicle comes with temporary or painted plates, ask the dealer when the HSRP will arrive.
Fitment centres for older vehicles
Authorised centres are listed during booking. Pick one near you, or home fitment if you cannot travel.
HSRP number plate images: what a genuine plate shows
HSRP number plate images of a genuine plate show a chromium hologram of the Ashoka Chakra at the top left, IND in light blue below it, embossed black letters on a reflective white base and a small laser-etched number at the bottom. Images missing these are of ordinary plates.

The retro-reflective film
Under light, the film shows “India” at a 45-degree angle. It is hard to see in a photo but easy to spot by tilting the plate.
The rivets
Look at the fixings. Genuine HSRP uses snap-lock rivets that break on removal, not screws.
High security number plate photo: how to spot a fake
Use a high security number plate photo to compare with your own plate: check the hologram, the IND mark, the laser code and the font. A fake usually has a flat printed hologram, a sticker-style IND or no laser number, and is fixed with screws.
Check the laser code
The laser code is a unique identification number etched into the plate. If it is missing or looks printed, ask the fitter before you accept the plate.
Photos for online bookings
Some states ask for a photo after fitment. Take it in daylight, straight on, with the whole plate visible.
What is a barcode number plate?
A barcode number plate is not an official plate type in India. People often use the term for HSRP because of its laser-etched identification number, but that is a numeric code, not a barcode. Plates sold online with printed barcodes are not HSRP.
What the code actually does
The laser number links each plate to the vehicle in the maker’s and transport records, making clones easier to detect.
Barcode stickers
Some parking or society stickers carry barcodes or QR codes. They are private passes, not part of the registration mark.
Are HD number plates legal?
No. HD number plates, along with 3D, 4D and gel plates, are decorative products with non-standard fonts and finishes. They lack the hologram, laser code and rivets, so they are not HSRP and can draw a challan under the general penalty in the Motor Vehicles Act.
Why they are popular
HD plates look sharp on social media and are sold cheaply online. That does not make them road-legal.
What to do if you have one
Book an HSRP through your state link and remove the HD plate once the new one is fitted. Our number plate design guide lists which styles break the rules.
What is the new model number plate?
The new model number plate is the HSRP format used since April 2019: an aluminium plate with fixed font, retro-reflective film, hologram, IND mark and laser code. Cars also carry the third registration sticker. It replaced the older painted and acrylic plates.
Sizes by vehicle
Cars and light vehicles use 50 cm by 12 cm, medium and heavy commercial vehicles 34 cm by 20 cm, and three-wheelers the 20 cm by 10 cm size.
Colours by category
Colour still follows the registration type: white for private, yellow for commercial and green for electric. Our number plates guide covers every colour.
HSRP number plate details: where are they recorded?
HSRP number plate details, including the laser code, are linked to the vehicle record by the authorised maker and the transport department. The RC still shows the registration number; the plate code sits in the HSRP system so police can match plate and vehicle.
What the owner keeps
Keep the booking receipt and the fitment slip. They show the plate codes and help if a plate is lost or stolen.
If details do not match
If the registration number on the plate differs from the RC, contact the fitment centre straight away. A mismatch can be treated as a wrong registration mark.
What is the third registration plate sticker?
The third registration plate sticker is the hologram-based sticker fixed inside the windscreen of four-wheelers, alongside the two HSRP plates. It carries the registration details and is colour coded by fuel. It breaks if someone tries to peel it off, so it cannot be moved to another car.
Why it is called “third”
The front and rear plates are the first two registration marks. The sticker is the third, so it is called the third registration mark in the rules.
Who fits it
The HSRP fitter fixes it at the same visit as the plates. New vehicles receive it from the dealer.
What is the blue sticker on car windscreens?
The blue sticker on car windscreens is usually the light blue third registration mark, which shows the car runs on petrol or CNG. Diesel cars get an orange sticker instead. Other blue stickers, such as parking or society passes, are private and not part of the registration.
How to tell them apart
The fuel sticker has a hologram and registration details. Parking passes usually show a logo, a flat number or a QR code.
Should you remove an old blue sticker?
Do not remove the fuel sticker. It breaks on removal and you would need to book a replacement.
Colour coded fuel stickers Delhi: what are they?
Colour coded fuel stickers Delhi owners use are the same third registration stickers: light blue for petrol and CNG, orange for diesel. They became important in Delhi because they let traffic police see a vehicle’s fuel type at a glance during pollution controls.

Why fuel type matters in Delhi
During severe pollution, rules can target diesel vehicles or older ones. A visible sticker makes checks faster without stopping every car.
More detail on the sticker
For a full explanation of the sticker scheme, read our color coded fuel sticker guide.
Colour sticker for car in Delhi: who needs it?
A colour sticker for car in Delhi is needed on four-wheelers registered in Delhi, as part of the HSRP set. Cars bought after April 2019 already have one from the dealer. Owners of older cars without it can order it through the HSRP booking link.
Two-wheelers
The sticker is designed for windscreens, so two-wheelers generally do not get one. The booking page shows what applies to your vehicle.
Vehicles from other states
A car registered elsewhere still needs the sticker under the national rule. Book it through the home state’s link.
HSRP and colour coded stickers: are they one order?
Yes. HSRP and colour coded stickers are normally booked and fitted in one order for four-wheelers. If you already have an HSRP but no sticker, most booking sites let you order the sticker alone.
Sticker-only orders
Pick the sticker option during booking. The fitter will check that your plates are genuine HSRP before fixing it.
Telangana example
Telangana’s 2025 order asked older vehicles to fit both an HSRP and a hologram-based colour sticker, and tied insurance renewal to having an HSRP.
Colour coded stickers for vehicles: which colour for which fuel?
Colour coded stickers for vehicles use light blue for petrol and CNG and orange for diesel. The 2018 order reported a separate category for other fuel types. Electric vehicles are already marked by their green plates.
| Fuel | Sticker colour |
|---|---|
| Petrol | Light blue |
| CNG | Light blue |
| Diesel | Orange |
| Other fuels | Separate category under the 2018 order |
Petrol cars converted to CNG
If you convert a car to CNG, the RC must be updated first. The sticker colour stays light blue.
Hybrid vehicles
Check the fuel shown on your RC; the sticker follows the RC entry.
How to get color coded fuel sticker?
How to get color coded fuel sticker? Open the HSRP booking link on your state transport site, enter your registration and chassis details, choose the sticker (with or without plates), pay online and get it fitted at a centre or at home. New vehicles get it from the dealer.

What to carry at fitment
Bring the RC and the booking receipt. The fitter checks the number and fuel before applying the sticker.
If the sticker shows the wrong fuel
Ask for a correction at the fitment centre. A wrong colour can confuse checks during pollution rules.
Is a car color sticker the same as a fuel sticker?
No. A car color sticker bought for decoration, such as a racing stripe or tint film, is not the fuel sticker. Only the hologram-based third registration mark counts. Decorative colour sticker for car products cannot replace it and should never cover plates.
Wraps and colour changes
If you change a car’s body colour with a wrap or paint, the RC must show the new colour. Ask your RTO for the process.
Stickers on plates
No sticker may be stuck on the number plate itself. That rule covers names, logos and flags.
Govt vehicle sticker: what can official vehicles display?
A govt vehicle sticker is meant only for vehicles of a government department or official on duty. Private vehicles displaying “Govt”, “Police” or similar stickers without authority can be stopped and fined, and in Chandigarh true government vehicles also use the G series.
Plate rules still apply
Government vehicles must carry an HSRP like any other. The department’s sticker is separate from the registration mark.
Red beacons
Red beacons on VIP vehicles were banned from 1 May 2017. Blue flashers remain for emergency vehicles.
High security number plate challan: what is the fine?
A high security number plate challan depends on the state and the section used. Officers often apply the general penalty of up to Rs 500 (Rs 1,500 for a repeat). Maharashtra announced Rs 1,000 from 1 July 2026 for older vehicles without HSRP.

| Offence | Section | Fine |
|---|---|---|
| Plate not as prescribed, first offence | 177 | Up to Rs 500 |
| Plate not as prescribed, repeat | 177 | Up to Rs 1,500 |
| Using a vehicle without valid registration | 192 | Rs 2,000 to Rs 5,000 |
| Maharashtra, older vehicle without HSRP | State drive | Rs 1,000 |
Other consequences
In some states, RTO services such as transfer or address change can be refused without an HSRP, and Telangana linked insurance renewal to it.

What is the full form of HSRP?
HSRP stands for High Security Registration Plate. It is the tamper-proof aluminium number plate with a hologram, laser-etched code and IND mark that every vehicle in India must carry.
Which codes appear on a Chandigarh number plate?
CH 01, CH 02, CH 03 and CH 04. All four are issued by the Chandigarh registering office; the code changes as each series fills up.
Is CH 01 the oldest Chandigarh code?
CH 01 was the first two-letter code used, and later series moved to CH 02, CH 03 and CH 04. Older vehicles keep the number they were given.
How much does an HSRP cost for a car?
Reported rates are about Rs 690 to Rs 800 plus GST in most states, and Rs 745 plus GST in Maharashtra. The booking portal shows the exact figure for your model.
How much does an HSRP cost for a bike?
About Rs 420 to Rs 480 plus GST in most states, and Rs 450 plus GST in Maharashtra, including fitment at a centre. Home fitment usually costs extra.
What does the blue sticker on a car mean?
A light blue hologram sticker on the windscreen is the third registration mark for a petrol or CNG vehicle. Diesel vehicles get an orange one.
Do two-wheelers need a colour coded fuel sticker?
The windscreen sticker is meant for vehicles with a windscreen, mainly cars and other four-wheelers. Check your state booking page, which only offers it where it applies.
Can I buy an HSRP from an online shop?
No. Only authorised manufacturers linked to the state booking system can make HSRP with a valid laser code. Plates sold on shopping sites are not HSRP.
Are HD or 3D number plates legal?
No. Plates sold as HD, 3D or 4D use non-standard fonts and finishes and lack the HSRP security features, so they can draw a challan.
What is the fine for not having an HSRP?
It depends on the state and the section used. Maharashtra announced Rs 1,000 from 1 July 2026 for old vehicles; elsewhere officers often use the general penalty of up to Rs 500.
What does G mean on a Chandigarh plate?
In Chandigarh the series letter G is used for government vehicles, and T is used for trucks.
Why does a Delhi plate say DL 1 and not DL 01?
Delhi omits the leading zero in its RTO numbers, so the Mall Road office shows as DL 1 and Tilak Marg as DL 2.
