What does HSRP status mean?

HSRP status is the stage your high security registration plate order has reached on the vendor’s system: paid and booked, plate made, plate dispatched, or fitted. It is not shown on the plate itself. You read it on the portal where you booked, using the details printed on your payment receipt.

Who keeps the status

The plate maker or its booking partner holds the order, not the RTO. That is why the national Vahan pages do not have a simple “plate order” screen. The vendor’s tracker is the first place to look, and the RTO record is updated later, when the plate is fitted.

Why owners check it

Most people check because a fitment date is close, the SMS never came, or a pollution test or RTO service was refused. The tracker tells you whether to wait, reschedule or complain.

How to check HSRP status online?

To check HSRP status online, open the booking portal you paid on, choose the tracking option in the top menu, type the order ID and the vehicle number, fill the captcha and search. No login is needed on Book My HSRP. The result appears on screen and can be saved or printed.

Start from the right portal

Different states use different booking sites, and each site sees only its own orders. If the SIAM Book HSRP page sent you to your manufacturer’s portal, track there. Searching on the wrong site returns “no record”.

How to check HSRP number plate status step by step?

The steps below cover the common Track Your Order screen. Labels change a little between vendors, but the inputs are the same: order ID, registration number and a captcha. Punjab’s own site accepts the invoice number in place of the order ID.

1. Open the booking portal. Use the link from your state transport department or vehicle maker, not a search ad.
2. Choose Track Your Order. It sits in the top menu; on the Punjab site it is called Track Status.
3. Enter the order ID and number. Type both exactly as on the receipt and RC, with no spaces.
4. Fill the captcha and search. Press Search or Submit.
5. Read the stage. Note the stage and the slot, then save the page as a PDF.

Typing the number correctly

Enter the registration number in capitals with no spaces or hyphens, for example MH12AB1234. Older two-digit series and the newer Telangana TG prefix are typed exactly as the RC shows them.

When the captcha keeps failing

Refresh the captcha, not the whole page. If it keeps failing, try another browser; the order is not lost.

What does each HSRP tracking stage mean?

HSRP tracking shows one of a few stages, and the wording depends on the vendor. Guides describe them as booked, processed, shipped and scheduled for fitting. Each stage tells you who has the next move: the factory, the courier, the fitment point or you.

Stages that stay still

An order can sit at “booked” for days while the plate is made. Worry only if the fitment date has passed and the stage has not moved.

The OTP at fitment

Book My HSRP sends an OTP for affixation to the mobile number given at booking. The fitter needs it to close the job, so keep that phone with you at the slot.

Which details do you need for high security number plate tracking?

For high security number plate tracking you need the order ID and the registration number on almost every portal. Keep the mobile number and e-mail used at booking nearby too, because receipts, slot changes and the fitment OTP all go to them. Punjab adds the invoice number as an option.

The order ID comes first

The order ID is created the moment payment succeeds. It arrives by SMS and e-mail and is printed on the payment receipt. Order IDs quoted by Book My HSRP users begin with BM. Copy it into your phone notes the same day.

Registration, chassis and engine numbers

The tracker usually needs only the registration number. The chassis and engine digits are used at booking, when the portal checks your vehicle against the Vahan record, but keep the RC handy in case a screen asks again.

What if the tracker shows no record?

A “no record found” message nearly always means one of three things: the wrong portal, a typing slip, or a payment that never created an order. Check the portal first, then the number, then your bank statement. Only after that should you contact the vendor.

Wrong portal or wrong state

Track on the exact web address shown on your receipt or confirmation e-mail. If a dealer booked for you, ask which portal was used.

A payment with no order

If money left your account but no order ID came, do not pay again straight away. Keep the bank reference and screenshots, wait a few hours for the order to appear, then raise a grievance with the vendor. Our HSRP contact number page lists the support routes.

What is the HSRP application status after payment?

The HSRP application status right after payment should read booked or confirmed, with your appointment date and place. That entry proves the vendor has your money and your slot. If it shows “pending” or “failed” instead, the payment did not finish and the order is not yet live.

Pending payment

A pending entry usually settles the same day, and failed debits are normally reversed. Do not pay again while one attempt is pending.

Confirmed with a slot

Once confirmed, the order cannot be edited on Book My HSRP. If you notice a mistake in the vehicle number or fuel type, the only fix there is to cancel within 30 minutes and book again.

When should the order show ready for fitment?

The order should reach “ready” or “scheduled for fitment” before your appointment date. Vendors make each plate after payment because the laser code is unique, so the gap between booking and the slot exists for manufacture and dispatch. We could not verify a fixed national delivery time.

If the slot arrives first

If your slot is tomorrow and the tracker still shows “booked”, call the fitment point before travelling. They can tell you whether the plate has reached them. Driving there without the plate in stock wastes a trip.

Missed your slot

Book My HSRP lets you move a missed appointment to the next available date. Use the reschedule option on the portal rather than booking a new order.

Vahan HSRP: does the vehicle record show your plate?

Vahan HSRP data is the plate information stored on your vehicle’s national record. State procedures ask the vendor or dealer to update the plate’s laser codes and fitment date on Vahan once the plates go on. There is no public plate-order tracker on Vahan; it reflects fitment, not booking.

What the record holds

A Chhattisgarh process note, seen in search results, shows separate fields for the front and rear laser codes. A blank field suggests fitment has not yet been recorded. Booking portals also read your registration, chassis and engine details from Vahan, which is why a mismatch blocks the booking.

Updates can lag

One owner reported on Team-BHP that a retrofitted plate still showed as not fitted for some time. If that happens, send the vendor your order ID and fitment date. For other Vahan look-ups, our guide to know your application status covers RTO applications.

What is an HSRP receipt?

An HSRP receipt is the document the portal creates when your payment succeeds. It shows the order ID, vehicle number, plate type, amount paid and the appointment date, time and place. Fitment points ask for it, along with the RC, before they fit the plates.

What to check on it

Read the registration number, vehicle class and fuel type carefully. For cars, the fuel type decides the colour of the third registration mark sticker. Any error here should be raised within the cancel window.

Keep it until fitment shows

Save the receipt as a PDF and keep a printout. Guides advise holding on to it until the plate is fitted and the record is updated, since it is your only proof of payment.

How to download HSRP receipt?

To download HSRP receipt copies, open the booking portal, choose Reprint Receipt (or Track Your Order), enter the order ID and registration number with the captcha, and save the page as a PDF. Book My HSRP also e-mails the receipt to the address you gave when booking.

If the download button fails

The Book My HSRP FAQ says to use Track Your Order when the receipt will not download, and to check the e-mail copy. On phones, use the browser’s share or print menu and choose “Save as PDF”.

Where else it might be

Search your inbox and spam folder for the order ID. A payment app reference proves payment but does not replace the receipt.

HSRP payment receipt vs fitment receipt: what is the difference?

The HSRP payment receipt proves you paid and booked a slot. The fitment record proves the plates are on the vehicle. Sources describe these as two separate papers, issued at different times, and you may need both: the first at the appointment, the second if a check later says your vehicle has no plate.

Which one to show at a check

At a roadside or PUC check, the plates themselves are the proof. If an officer or centre says the record shows no HSRP, show the payment receipt and fitment date and ask the vendor to update Vahan.

How does HSRP reprint work?

HSRP reprint usually means printing the payment receipt again, not making a new plate. Portals keep a Reprint Receipt or Reprint Invoice option for this. A new plate after damage or theft is a separate paid order with its own steps, covered on our broken number plate page.

Reprinting the receipt

Open the portal, choose Reprint Receipt, enter the order ID (or the details the screen asks for) and the captcha, then save or print. The copy shows the same order ID and slot as the original.

Replacing a plate

A bent, cracked or stolen plate cannot be “reprinted”; a fresh plate with a new laser code is made. The Book My HSRP warranty covers only the reflective sheeting for five years, not accidental damage.

HSRP status Punjab: tracking on the state portal

For HSRP status Punjab owners use the state’s own booking site, punjabhsrp.in, rather than a national tracker. Its Track Status tab takes either the vehicle registration number or the invoice number and shows whether the application is approved or still in process.

Steps on the Punjab site

Open the Punjab HSRP portal, choose Track Status at the top, enter the PB number or the invoice number, and submit. The invoice number is printed on the application form and the invoice receipt.

Other routes in Punjab

How do you reprint a Punjab HSRP invoice?

Use the Reprint Invoice tab on the Punjab HSRP site. Enter the registration number or the invoice number, submit, and print the copy that appears. This is the receipt the fitment centre asks for, so print it before your appointment.

AP HSRP status: where Andhra Pradesh owners check

For AP HSRP status, track on the portal that took your payment. A Sakshi Post report says Andhra Pradesh made the plate mandatory for all vehicles, including old ones, but we could not verify a separate AP tracking site, deadline or fee. Check the link on your receipt or the AP transport department’s notices.

AP vehicles bought after April 2019

Vehicles made on or after 1 April 2019 left the dealer with HSRP fitted. For those, there is no order to track; if a plate is missing, ask the dealer.

Older AP vehicles

For older vehicles, the booking route is the one named by the state. Avoid sites found through ads that claim to be the “AP HSRP portal” unless the transport department links to them.

How do Maharashtra owners track their plate order?

Maharashtra orders are tracked on the vendor portal for your zone, or through the link sent after payment. Guides say the tracker asks for the order or appointment receipt number with the registration number and mobile number. Booking steps and fees sit on our Maharashtra HSRP number plate page.

Keep the vendor’s name

Note which vendor handled your booking; it is printed on the receipt. Searching another vendor’s portal will not find your order.

HSRP centre near me: how to find your fitment point

An HSRP centre near me search works best inside the booking portal itself. During booking you pick your state, district and a dealer or authorised fitment centre, and that place is printed on the receipt. Map listings and ads often show unofficial shops that cannot fit a genuine plate.

Dealer or fitment centre

New vehicles are fitted by the dealer before delivery. For older vehicles, the booking screen lists the dealers and centres that serve your area. Some states and vendors also offer home fitment, sometimes at an extra charge.

Group fitment

In Maharashtra, guides say the home fitment charge may not apply when 25 or more owners book fitment at one common place, such as a housing society. Ask your society office whether a group booking is planned.

Can you change the appointment slot or location?

You can usually change the date, but not the place. The Book My HSRP FAQ says a missed appointment can be moved to the next available date, while the affixation location cannot be changed after booking. Choose the centre carefully when you book.

Rescheduling the date

Use the reschedule option on the portal with your order ID. Do it before the slot if you know you cannot attend; it keeps your plate reserved at the same centre.

If you have moved city

Because the place is fixed, an owner who has moved may need to travel back or contact the vendor.

Number plate status check for a vehicle you own

A number plate status check for your own vehicle has two parts: the vendor’s tracker for the order, and the plates themselves. Look for the chromium hologram, the laser-etched code and one-time rivets on both plates. Our guide on what is HSRP shows each security feature.

Front, rear and sticker

Two-wheelers get front and rear plates; cars also get the colour-coded third registration mark on the windscreen. Check that all parts were fitted before the fitter closes the order with your OTP.

When the plates look right but the record does not

That is a data delay, not a fitting fault. Keep the receipt and ask the vendor to update the record, quoting the order ID and laser codes.

What is number plate status on a used vehicle?

On a used vehicle, number plate status simply means whether genuine HSRP plates are fitted and recorded. A buyer cannot see the seller’s order, but can look at the plates for the hologram and laser code and ask for the original receipt. Missing plates are the seller’s job to fix before the sale.

Questions to ask the seller

Ask when the plates were fitted, by whom, and whether the receipt is available. A vehicle made after 1 April 2019 should already have them from the dealer.

What does order registration mean for HSRP?

Order registration is the booking step that creates your HSRP order: entering the vehicle details, choosing plate type and fitment point, and paying. The term is used loosely online and also appears for unrelated shopping sites; here it means the HSRP booking that gives you an order ID to track.

What the booking checks

The portal compares your registration, chassis and engine details with the Vahan record. If they do not match, the order is not registered. Typing the last five chassis and engine characters from the RC avoids most rejections.

After registration

Once the order is registered and paid, the order ID is your tracking key. Store it with the RC copy on your phone.

Can you cancel an HSRP order and get a refund?

Only within a short window. The Book My HSRP FAQ allows Cancel Order within 30 minutes of booking; after that the plate may already be in production and cancellation is not possible. Refunds take about six to eight working days, depending on how you paid.

Booked with a mistake

If the vehicle number or fuel type is wrong, cancel inside the 30 minutes and place a new order. After that, contact the vendor; there is no edit option.

Common HSRP status errors and fixes

Most HSRP status problems come from the wrong portal, a typo, or slow data updates. The fixes are simple once you know which one you face, and none needs a second payment. Use the list below before calling support.

Error list

• No record found: check the web address on your receipt and retype the number without spaces.
• Captcha keeps failing: refresh only the captcha, or switch browser.
• Receipt will not open: use Reprint Receipt or the e-mailed copy.
• OTP not received at fitment: the OTP goes to the booking mobile number; carry that phone.
• Record shows no HSRP after fitment: send the vendor your order ID and wait for the update.
