0007 number plate price: state reserve fees, auction records and booking
The 0007 number plate price is set by each state, not nationally. Delhi asks a minimum reserve of ₹3 lakh for a private car, Haryana ₹1.5 lakh and Himachal a ₹75,000 fee to join the bidding. Auctions often go far higher: 0007 fetched ₹9.35 lakh in Chandigarh in 2024 and ₹45.99 lakh in Kerala in 2025.
Key takeaways
- 0007 sits in the single-digit group in every list we read, one step below 0001.
- Delhi's floor is ₹3 lakh, Haryana's ₹1.5 lakh for private vehicles and ₹30,000 for transport vehicles.
- A reserve is only the starting point; a contested 0007 can sell for many times the floor.
- A CR7 plate cannot be ordered: the RTO issues series letters in turn, and you choose only the digits.
- 0786 is usually cheaper than 0007, for example ₹75,000 against ₹1.5 lakh in Haryana.
- The HSRP plate is a small, separate charge of about ₹745 plus GST for a car in Maharashtra.

What is the 0007 number plate price in India?
The 0007 number plate price depends on the state and on demand. Each transport department fixes a reserve or entry fee, and an auction decides the final amount when more than one person applies. For a private car the floor ranges from ₹75,000 in Himachal to ₹3 lakh in Delhi.

| State or list | 0007 amount | Vehicle | Type of charge |
|---|---|---|---|
| Delhi | ₹3,00,000 | Private four-wheeler | Minimum reserve, category 2 |
| Haryana | ₹1,50,000 | Non-transport | E-auction reserve |
| Haryana | ₹30,000 | Transport vehicle | Fixed extra fee |
| Himachal Pradesh | ₹75,000 | All | Special fee to join bidding |
| Maharashtra | Not named in 2024 reports | Check portal | Group not confirmed |
Reserve price versus final price
A reserve is the lowest bid the state accepts. If you are the only applicant, you pay roughly that amount. If ten people want 0007 in the same series, the price is whatever the highest bidder offers.
Where these figures come from
Delhi and Haryana amounts come from their notified motor vehicle rules, Himachal’s from a 2023 amendment reported by The Tribune. State lists change, so confirm the figure on the booking portal before you pay.
Why do buyers pay extra for 0007?
Most demand comes from the James Bond connection, since 007 is the fictional spy’s code number. Single-digit marks are also short and easy to read, which makes them status symbols. States respond by placing 0007 in their second-highest group, just below 0001.
A number, not a design
The fee buys only the registration number. The plate still uses the standard embossed font, so 0007 looks like any other mark apart from the digits.
Luxury car owners lead the bidding
Reported 0007 auctions often involve high-end cars, where a few lakh rupees is a small share of the vehicle price.
Which price slab does 0007 fall in?
0007 falls in the single-digit slab in each list we checked. Delhi groups it with 0002 to 0009, Haryana with 0002 and 0009, and Himachal with 0002 to 0010. That group always sits one step below 0001 and above repeated or round numbers.
Why 0007 is not alone
States rarely price one digit above another inside this group. 0007 costs the same floor as 0002 or 0009; only the auction tells them apart.
What the slab means for you
Knowing the slab lets you estimate the minimum before you open the portal. It does not tell you what rivals will bid.
What does 0007 cost in Delhi?
Delhi charges a minimum reserve of ₹3 lakh for 0007 on a private four-wheeler. The Delhi Motor Vehicles (First Amendment) Rules, 2014 place 0002 to 0009 in category 2. Allotment is valid for 90 days, and the amount is forfeited if the car is not registered in time.
Category 2 next to category 1
0001 alone forms category 1 at ₹5 lakh. So 0007 in Delhi costs three-fifths of the top number’s floor.
Two-wheelers in Delhi
The 2014 Delhi rule covers non-transport four-wheelers. For a scooter or motorcycle, check the amount shown on the portal when you pick the number.
How much is 0007 in Haryana?
Haryana sets a ₹1.5 lakh e-auction reserve for 0007 on a non-transport vehicle under its 2022 rules. You also pay a non-refundable ₹1,000 application fee and a bid security of 20% of the reserve, which works out to ₹30,000 for 0007.
Same group as 0002 and 0009
Haryana separates 0002, 0007 and 0009 from 0003 to 0008, which carry a lower ₹1 lakh reserve. 0007 is one of the dearer single digits there.
Timelines after a win
The balance is due within five calendar days after bidding closes, and the mark must be assigned to a vehicle within 90 days.
Does a Haryana transport vehicle pay less for 0007?
Yes. A taxi, bus or goods carrier in Haryana gets 0007 for a fixed extra fee of ₹30,000, paid on a first come, first served basis. There is no auction for transport vehicles, so the first owner to apply and pay takes the number.
Why the gap is so large
Commercial owners pick numbers for easy fleet identification more than status, and the state keeps their fees modest.
The full transport list
Haryana’s transport scale runs from ₹1 lakh for 0001 down to ₹10,000 for an ordinary choice mark. 0007 sits in the ₹30,000 band with 0002 to 0021.
What does Himachal charge to bid for 0007?
Himachal Pradesh charges a ₹75,000 special registration fee to take part in bidding for 0007. The fee covers the group 0002 to 0010. It was introduced in 2023 so that only serious bidders join, after many winning bids were never paid.
Not a reserve price
You pay the fee simply to enter. If several people pay it, the auction still decides the winner and the final amount.
HP-07 exception
In the HP-07 series, numbers 1 to 10 are kept for government vehicles, so 0007 is not on offer there.
Is 0007 named in Maharashtra’s 2024 fee groups?
Not in the reports we read. Maharashtra’s notification of 30 August 2024 names 0001 at ₹5 lakh and 0009, 0099, 0999, 9999 and 0786 at ₹2.5 lakh for cars. 0007 is not listed by name, so it may sit in one of the unnamed ₹1 lakh or ₹70,000 groups.
What we do not know
The reports describe 16 popular numbers at ₹1 lakh and 49 more at ₹70,000 without naming them. We have not guessed which group holds 0007.
How to find the real figure
Select 0007 on the Maharashtra fancy number booking page. The portal shows the exact fee before you pay anything.
What has 0007 fetched at auction?
Reported winning bids for 0007 range from about ₹1.08 lakh in Hyderabad to ₹45.99 lakh in Kerala. The spread shows how much the result depends on the city, the series and how many rich bidders turn up on the day.

| Registration | Place | Reported | Winning bid |
|---|---|---|---|
| KL 07 DG 0007 | Kerala MVD online auction | April 2025 | ₹45.99 lakh |
| CH01-CV 0007 | Chandigarh e-auction | July 2024 | ₹9.35 lakh |
| TG 09 0007 | Khairatabad RTA, Hyderabad | March 2024 | ₹1,07,777 |
Chandigarh’s ranking
In the same 2024 Chandigarh auction, 0001 went for ₹24.30 lakh and 0009 for ₹10.43 lakh, so 0007 came third among the top numbers.
Hyderabad’s opening day
TG 09 0007 was sold on the first day the new TG series opened, when many owners rushed for early numbers.
Why did KL 07 DG 0007 sell for 45.99 lakh?
KL 07 DG 0007 was bought for a Lamborghini in a Kerala online auction, with bidding starting at ₹25,000. Repeated rival bids took it to ₹45.99 lakh, according to Business Today. It is the highest 0007 price we found in public reports.
Kerala’s low entry point
Kerala’s base prices run from ₹3,000 to ₹1 lakh, so a famous number can attract many bidders before the price climbs.
A record, not a benchmark
Do not budget against this figure. Most 0007 auctions close at a fraction of it.
Is a 7 number plate the same as 0007?
Yes. Number 7 and 0007 are the same registration number. The number field always has four digits, so the RTO records it as 0007 and the plate shows the leading zeros. Searches for “7 number plate”, “007” or “0007” all point to the same fee.
Leading zeros are mandatory
The HSRP rules fix the layout and font, so you cannot drop the zeros to show only 7 or 007.
Older vehicles
Some old plates printed 7 without zeros. The registration record still reads 0007, and a new HSRP will show it in full.
How does 0007 compare with 0001 and 0009?
0007 costs less than 0001 and the same as 0009 at the reserve stage in Delhi and Haryana. Delhi’s floors are ₹5 lakh for 0001 and ₹3 lakh for both 0007 and 0009. Our 0001 number plate price guide covers the top number state by state.
Auction results tell a similar story
In Chandigarh’s 2024 sale, 0001, 0009 and 0007 took the first three places, in that order.
Maharashtra is the exception
Maharashtra names 0009 at ₹2.5 lakh but not 0007, so the two may not share a fee there.
What is the CR7 number plate price in India?
There is no CR7 number plate price because no RTO sells a “CR7” mark. Indian plates show a state code, an RTO code, series letters and a four-digit number. The letters come in sequence, so the only part of “CR7” you can buy is the number, written as 0007.

Why people search for CR7
CR7 is the nickname of footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, and fans like to copy it on their vehicles. That is the likely reason for the search.
Plates offered online
A shop that prints “CR7” on a plate is selling decoration. It does not match any registration certificate and would break the display rules.
Can you choose CR as your series letters?
No. Series letters are issued in order by the RTO as each series fills up. You cannot pay to unlock CR early. What you can do is wait until a series with CR opens at your RTO and then bid for its 0007 like any other buyer.
How series move
When 9999 in one series is used, the next series opens, for example from CQ to CR. Busy RTOs move through letters faster.
Watching for the series
The fancy number portal shows open series. Check it regularly if a particular letter pair matters to you.
What would 0007 cost in a CR series?
The same as 0007 in any other series. No state list we read charges extra for particular letters. In Delhi you would start at ₹3 lakh and in Haryana at ₹1.5 lakh, but demand could be higher if many fans want that exact combination.
Expect more competition
A rare letter pair plus a single digit could draw extra bidders, which pushes the final price up.
Keep the plate standard
Even with CR and 0007, the characters must appear with spacing and font set by the rules. Styling them to read “CR7” is not allowed.
What is the 0786 number price?
The 0786 number price is ₹2.5 lakh for a car in Maharashtra, ₹2 lakh in Delhi and ₹75,000 for a private vehicle in Haryana. States treat 0786 as a premium pick because many buyers consider it auspicious, but it sits below the single digits in most lists.

| 0786 in | Amount | Vehicle |
|---|---|---|
| Maharashtra (2024) | ₹2,50,000 | Four-wheeler |
| Maharashtra (2024) | ₹50,000 | Two- or three-wheeler |
| Delhi (2014) | ₹2,00,000 | Private four-wheeler |
| Haryana (2022) | ₹75,000 | Non-transport |
| Haryana (2022) | ₹30,000 | Transport vehicle |
786 written on the plate
The plate shows 0786 with the leading zero. A search for 786 means the same mark.
Wider fancy number lists
For the full set of premium slabs, including 9999 and 1111, see our VIP number plate price guide.
0786 or 0007: which costs more?
0007 usually costs more. Delhi places 0007 in category 2 at ₹3 lakh and 0786 in category 3 at ₹2 lakh. Haryana asks ₹1.5 lakh for 0007 against ₹75,000 for 0786. Maharashtra is the open question, since its 2024 reports name 0786 but not 0007.
Transport vehicles pay the same
In Haryana a taxi pays ₹30,000 for either number, because both fall in the same transport band.
Demand can flip the order
In a series where many bidders want 0786, its final price can pass 0007’s. The reserve shows only the starting line.
What is the car number plate cost?
The car number plate cost has two separate parts: the registration number fee and the physical plate. An ordinary number allotted in turn has no extra fee. A high security registration plate for a car costs ₹745 plus GST in Maharashtra, including fitment.
Ordinary number versus choice number
If you accept the next number in line, you pay only the normal registration charges. A choice number adds its own fee on top.
Plates for other vehicles
Maharashtra charges ₹450 plus GST for a two-wheeler and ₹500 plus GST for a three-wheeler, fitment included.
How much does the HSRP plate cost for a car?
In Maharashtra, an HSRP set for a car costs ₹745 plus GST, fitted. Rates in other states are set by their own orders and vendors. Since April 2019 the dealer fits HSRP on new vehicles. Read our HSRP number plate guide for the rules.
The plate is the same for 0007
A choice number does not change the plate price. 0007 and an ordinary number pay the same HSRP charge.
Older vehicles
Owners of cars registered before April 2019 must book an HSRP themselves. Maharashtra’s deadline was 30 June 2026.
What does a car with 0007 cost in all?
The full cost of a car carrying 0007 is the number fee or winning bid, any application fee, the HSRP plate and the normal registration charges and road tax. In Delhi, with no rival bidders, the number alone would be ₹3 lakh, against well under ₹1,000 for the plate.

| Item | Example amount | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 0007 reserve, Haryana private | ₹1,50,000 | Rises if others bid |
| Haryana application fee | ₹1,000 | Not refunded |
| Haryana bid security | ₹30,000 | Returned if you lose |
| HSRP for a car, Maharashtra | ₹745 plus GST | Includes fitment |
| Road tax and registration | Varies by state | Based on vehicle price and fuel |
Road tax is unchanged
The choice number does not raise road tax. Tax depends on the vehicle, as explained in the vehicle tax and permits section.
A one-time payment
You pay for 0007 once. There is no yearly charge to keep it.
How do you book 0007 online?
You book 0007 on the Vahan fancy number portal or your state’s own booking site. Sign up as a public user, check that 0007 is open in the live series at your RTO, pay the fee and wait for the auction result if others have applied.
- Register on the portal. Create a public user account with your mobile number and email.
- Find 0007 in a live series. Search the open series at your RTO and confirm 0007 is still free.
- Pay to apply. Pay the application or special fee and any bid security your state asks for.
- Bid if others apply. Raise your offer in the online auction window if the number is contested.
- Collect the allotment letter. Pay the balance, download the letter and register the vehicle in time.

When to book
Popular single digits go on the first day a series opens. Watch your RTO’s series closely if you want 0007.
What to keep ready
Keep your ID, address proof and the vehicle’s sale details. The dealer needs the allotment letter to register the car.
What happens if others bid for 0007?
If two or more people apply for 0007, the state holds an online auction. Each bidder raises the offer during the window, and the highest bid wins. The winner pays the balance by the deadline; in Haryana that is five calendar days after bidding closes.
Setting your limit
Decide your maximum in advance. Auction results above show that 0007 can rise many times past its floor.
If the winner does not pay
Read your state’s terms on what happens to the deposit of a winner who misses the payment deadline. The rules differ, and the portal sets them out before you bid.
Which payments come back if you lose a 0007 bid?
In Haryana, a losing bidder gets the 20% bid security back within 15 days, but the ₹1,000 application fee is kept. Himachal’s ₹75,000 special fee works as an entry charge. Rules elsewhere differ, so read the refund terms on your portal before paying.
Keep the payment receipts
Save every receipt and transaction ID. They help if a refund is delayed.
How long does a 0007 allotment stay valid?
Delhi and Haryana give 90 days to register a vehicle after 0007 is allotted. If you miss the deadline in Delhi, the fee is forfeited. Haryana lets an unassigned mark be kept for up to 180 days. Maharashtra extended its reservation period to six months in 2024.
Plan around delivery
If your new car will take months to arrive, check the validity period first so you do not lose the number.
Ask the dealer early
Tell the dealer about the allotment so the registration uses 0007 and not the next number in line.
Can you move 0007 to a new car?
Rules vary by state. Haryana allows a transfer or change of mark for ₹2,000. In other states the number usually stays with the vehicle it was first assigned to and goes to the buyer if the car is sold. Ask your RTO before you sell.
Selling a car that carries 0007
The number belongs to the vehicle record, so the new owner keeps it after the transfer of ownership unless your state allows a retention.
Is 0007 cheaper on a bike?
Often, yes, where a state keeps a separate two-wheeler list. Maharashtra charges ₹50,000 for 0786 on a two-wheeler against ₹2.5 lakh for a car, and bike fees are generally lower. We did not find a published two-wheeler fee for 0007, so check the portal.
Delhi’s list is for cars
Delhi’s 2014 categories apply to private four-wheelers, so the bike amount appears only on the portal.
Smaller plate, same rules
A two-wheeler plate is smaller, but 0007 still appears in the standard HSRP font with its leading zeros.
