RTO Noida: the UP 16 transport office for Gautam Buddha Nagar

By , Editor and reviewer · Updated · 24 min read · Independent guide, not a government website

In short

RTO Noida is the Assistant Regional Transport Office for Gautam Buddha Nagar district, and it issues the UP 16 code. Directory listings place it in Sector 32, opposite NTPC. It serves Noida, Greater Noida, Dadri and Jewar. Most work starts online on Vahan or Sarathi, and you visit only for tests, checks or document verification.

Key takeaways

  • UP 16 is the code of the Noida office, which covers the whole of Gautam Buddha Nagar district.
  • Listings give the address as Sector 32, opposite NTPC, Noida 201301; confirm before you travel.
  • The office is headed by an ARTO (assistant RTO), with separate administration and enforcement posts.
  • Greater Noida has no separate code in the main published list, although some sites claim UP 18.
  • There is no separate Noida website: services run on Vahan, Sarathi and the UP Transport Department portal.
  • Listed timings and phone numbers disagree between directories, so check your appointment slip.

What is RTO Noida and which district does it serve?

RTO Noida is the transport office for Gautam Buddha Nagar district, the western Uttar Pradesh district that holds Noida, Greater Noida, Dadri and Jewar. It registers vehicles under the code UP 16, issues licences through Sarathi and handles permits, fitness and tax work for the district.

An assistant office, not a regional one

Strictly speaking, Noida’s office is an ARTO, an Assistant Regional Transport Office. In everyday speech everyone still calls it the Noida RTO, and the forms and portals use the same services as any full regional office in the state.

Who uses it

Anyone whose address proof shows a location in Gautam Buddha Nagar uses this office: flat owners in Noida’s sectors, villagers around Jewar and Dankaur, and companies in the Greater Noida industrial areas. For the national picture of these services, see our Vahan and RTO services guide.

Where is the RTO office Noida located?

The RTO office Noida is listed in Sector 32, opposite the NTPC building, close to the Noida City Centre area. Insurer directories and the state telephone listing all point to this one district office, and the PIN code given with it is 201301.

Confirm the address before you go

Most insurer and directory listings repeat Sector 32, opposite NTPC. We could not confirm it from a government page, and listings also disagree on office timings, which is why we suggest checking before you set out.

What the campus is used for

Owners come here for document verification, vehicle inspection, licence tests and enforcement matters. New car buyers seldom need to visit, because dealers usually complete registration online and hand over the number with the vehicle.

What is the UP 16 RTO address in directories?

The UP 16 RTO address that most directories repeat is: Noida RTO Office, Sector 32, Opposite NTPC, Noida, Uttar Pradesh 201301. It is the only registering address listed for UP 16, so it serves Greater Noida and the Jewar belt too.

Why we flag the address as unconfirmed

The UP Transport Department site did not load from our test machine, so we could not match these details against an official office list. Treat the table as a starting point and check the office named on your online receipt.

When the portal names a different office

Vahan and Sarathi pick the office from the address you enter. If your receipt names an office other than Noida, the address on your application is probably wrong. Fix it before the visit rather than at the counter.

How do you reach the Sector 32 transport office?

Sector 32 lies in central Noida, between the city centre area and the main arterial roads that link Noida with Greater Noida. Most people come by car or two-wheeler, and many first-time applicants use the Metro and finish the trip by auto or cab.

By Metro

The Blue Line ends at Noida Electronic City, and stations around the city centre are the closest to Sector 32. Check a map app for the nearest exit before you go, since the walk from the station is not always short.

Parking and test vehicles

If you are taking a driving test, you must bring a vehicle of the class you applied for. Arrive early so the vehicle and its papers can be checked. Parking near government offices fills quickly on weekday mornings.

What is the Noida RTO code?

The Noida RTO code is UP 16. Every vehicle first registered at the Gautam Buddha Nagar office carries UP 16 at the start of its number, followed by series letters and four digits. The code names the office, not the town where the owner lives today.

Noida rto code UP 16 shown beside Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr, Meerut, Baghpat and Hapur codes
Noida's code sits among the Meerut division offices it once shared land with.

Where the code shows up

You see UP 16 on number plates, the registration certificate, insurance papers, PUC slips and Vahan search results. Insurers also use the registering office as one of the inputs for premium zones, which is why the code matters on quote forms.

The full state list

Noida’s code is one of about seventy-six in Uttar Pradesh. For every number from UP 11 to UP 96, our page on UP 14 district name and the full UP code list covers the state table.

Which city does UP 16 belong to?

UP 16 belongs to Noida, the planned city in Gautam Buddha Nagar district on Delhi’s south-eastern border. Strictly the code belongs to the whole district office, so a UP 16 vehicle may just as easily come from Greater Noida, Dadri or a village near Jewar.

Why people ask

Noida-registered cars are everywhere in Delhi NCR, and drivers in Haryana, Delhi or Uttarakhand often spot UP 16 on a car and wonder where it is from. The short answer is Noida; the full answer is the district.

The code and the owner

A vehicle keeps its UP 16 number when its owner moves within Uttar Pradesh. A UP 16 car in Lucknow or Agra was registered in Noida but may have changed hands several times since.

What does a UP 16 number tell you about a vehicle?

A UP 16 number tells you two things for certain: the vehicle was first registered in Uttar Pradesh, and the registering office was Noida. Everything after the code is a running serial that the office issues in order, with fancy numbers sold separately.

What it cannot tell you

The number alone does not reveal the owner, the address, the loan status or whether the vehicle is still on the road. Those details sit in the Vahan record, and only part of them is visible in a public search.

Older and newer series

Because letters are used in sequence, a later series usually means a newer registration. That is a rough guide only, since owners can buy a choice number from an earlier or special series.

How do you read the letters and digits after UP 16?

A plate such as UP 16 AB 1234 has four parts: UP for the state, 16 for the Noida office, AB for the letter series and 1234 for the vehicle’s own number. Only the first two parts point to a place.

Four parts of a up 16 number from state letters to the vehicle's digits
Only the first two parts point to a place; the rest is a serial.

When a series runs out

Each two-letter series holds numbers from 1 to 9999. When Noida fills one series, it moves to the next pair of letters. A busy district like Gautam Buddha Nagar moves through series quickly.

Decode another plate

If you need a code from another state, the tool below decodes it from the first letters and digits.

Is there an RTO office Greater Noida?

There is no separate rto office Greater Noida in the main published code list. Greater Noida is the district headquarters of Gautam Buddha Nagar, but the vehicle registration code for the whole district is UP 16, and directories send Greater Noida residents to the Sector 32 office.

Comparison of the Sector 32 office and an rto office greater noida claim
Most listings point Greater Noida owners to the same district office.

Why the confusion exists

District offices such as the Collectorate sit in Greater Noida, so people assume the transport office does too. Some commercial sites also describe a Greater Noida office in Knowledge Park IV, which adds to the doubt.

How to settle it for your own case

Start your application on Vahan or Sarathi with your Greater Noida address. The portal will name the office that handles it. That office, printed on your receipt, is the one to visit.

Does Greater Noida have a separate code?

Some commercial lists show UP 18 for Greater Noida, and one insurer says Gautam Buddha Nagar uses both UP 16 and UP 18. The Wikipedia table of Uttar Pradesh codes does not list UP 18 at all, so we treat the claim as unconfirmed.

What to do if you see a UP 18 plate

Enter the full number in a Vahan search. The result shows the registering authority, which settles the question for that vehicle better than any list on the web.

Why it matters

If you are buying a used car described as “Greater Noida registered”, check the RC rather than the seller’s word. The office on the RC is the one that will process the transfer.

Which areas fall under the Noida transport office?

The Noida office covers all three tehsils of Gautam Buddha Nagar: Sadar (Noida), Dadri and Jewar. That takes in planned sectors, industrial areas, the Yamuna Expressway towns and a large rural belt along the river towards Bulandshahr.

Towns on the edges

Smaller places such as Bilaspur, Jahangirpur, Kakod and Salarpur Khadar are also inside the district. If your village sits close to the Bulandshahr or Ghaziabad boundary, the address on your Aadhaar decides the office, not the nearest market.

The tehsil column is approximate

Tehsil boundaries do not follow city names neatly, and we could not find an official tehsil map for every locality. The code, however, is the same across the district.

What is an asst RTO?

An asst RTO is an Assistant Regional Transport Officer, usually written ARTO. In Uttar Pradesh the district transport offices are run by ARTOs, while Regional Transport Officers oversee a group of districts. Noida’s office is an ARTO office in this sense.

Powers of the post

The ARTO acts as the registering and licensing authority for the district under the Motor Vehicles Act. That means signing off registrations, transfers, NOCs and licences, and taking action on vehicles that break the rules.

Why the word assistant matters little to you

For an applicant, an ARTO office offers the same services as a full RTO. The title only shows where the post sits in the state’s chain of command.

How are ARTO administration and enforcement different?

State directories list Gautam Buddha Nagar with one ARTO (Administration) and separate ARTO (Enforcement) units. Administration runs the counters; enforcement works on the road, checking vehicles, permits and loads.

Table of asst rto roles in Noida, from administration work to enforcement duties
The office is run by assistant officers, not a full regional officer.

Administration side

This is the side most residents deal with: registration, transfers, hypothecation, licences, fitness and tax records. Questions about a pending application go here.

Enforcement side

Enforcement units stop vehicles for checks, act against overloading or permit breaches and can impound vehicles. If your vehicle was seized in a road check, the enforcement unit that booked it handles the release papers.

Is there an RTO Noida official website?

No separate RTO Noida official website exists. The office runs on national portals: Vahan for vehicles, Sarathi for licences and e-Challan for fines, all under parivahan.gov.in. State notices and office lists come from the UP Transport Department site.

How to reach the right page

On parivahan.gov.in, choose online services, pick Uttar Pradesh and then the Noida office where a list appears. Many pages ask for your state first, and a wrong state choice is the most common reason a search returns nothing.

Beware of look-alike sites

Search results for Noida RTO include agents and insurers. They can be useful for reading, but no private site can issue an RC or licence. Pay fees only on a page whose address ends in .gov.in.

Do's and don'ts for spotting the rto noida official website and avoiding copies
Every Noida fee is paid on a government portal, never to a private page.

Which portals does the Noida office use?

The Noida office uses the same four national systems as every Uttar Pradesh office. Each portal handles a different kind of work, and the office staff see your application only after you submit it on the right one.

mParivahan and DigiLocker

The mParivahan app and DigiLocker hold digital copies of your RC and licence. Both pull from the same national records, so a Noida RC appears there once the office approves it.

When a portal is slow

Government portals often slow down at month end and on Monday mornings. Save your application number at each step so you can resume without starting again.

What services does the Noida office offer?

Listings describe the Noida office as handling vehicle registration and renewal, ownership transfer, learner and permanent licences, commercial permits, road tax and fitness certificates. Almost all of these begin online, with an office visit only where a check or a test is needed.

Services by appointment

Where a visit is needed, the portal offers a date and time slot. Walk-in service without a slot is uncommon now, and counters may turn you away.

Services that stay online

RC printouts, licence downloads and challan payments need no visit at all. If you only want a copy of a document, do it from home.

How is a new vehicle registered in Noida?

For a new private vehicle, the dealer usually files the registration on Vahan, collects tax and fees from you, and hands over the UP 16 number. You rarely visit the Noida office for a new non-transport vehicle unless something in the papers does not match.

What you give the dealer

Expect to provide ID and address proof, a passport photo, the insurance policy and your mobile number. The mobile number matters most, because every later OTP for the RC goes there.

Choice numbers

If you want a specific UP 16 number, book it through the fancy-number module on Vahan before registration. Ask the dealer to wait until the number is allotted.

How do you sell or buy a used UP 16 vehicle?

To transfer a UP 16 vehicle, the buyer and seller apply on Vahan with Forms 29 and 30, pay the transfer fee and submit the RC to the Noida office. Both sides should keep copies until the new RC arrives in the buyer’s name.

Report it on time

Uttar Pradesh compounds a late transfer report at ₹25 per week, capped at ₹100, as reported from the state rules. Paying a small sum is easy; the real risk is that challans and accidents stay linked to the seller until the record changes.

Full process

Our Form 29 and 30 transfer guide walks through each screen, the central fee and what to do if the seller has moved away.

How do you change the address on a UP 16 RC?

When you move within Gautam Buddha Nagar or to another UP district, you update the address on the existing RC through Vahan. The UP 16 number stays the same. If the new address is in another district, the portal may route the file to that office.

Documents for the change

You usually need the RC, new address proof, valid insurance and PUC. A vehicle on loan may need the financier’s consent. Our RC address change page lists the steps.

Keep the mobile number current

Update the mobile number on the RC at the same time if it has changed, so that challan alerts and OTPs reach you.

How do you get a learner’s licence in Gautam Buddha Nagar?

You apply on Sarathi, choose Uttar Pradesh and the Noida office, fill in your details, upload documents and pay the fee. The learner’s licence test is a short rules-and-signs test; depending on what the portal offers, you take it online or at the office.

Age rules

The minimum age is 16 years for a gearless motorcycle up to 50cc, 18 years for a car or ordinary motorcycle and 20 years for a transport vehicle, under section 4 of the Motor Vehicles Act.

Validity

A learner’s licence is valid for six months. If it lapses before you pass the driving test, you have to apply again.

How is driving skill checked for a Noida licence?

You can take the driving test only after holding the learner’s licence for at least 30 days. On the booked date you bring a vehicle of the class you applied for, and an examiner checks your control, signals and road sense on the office’s test ground.

Timeline from learner licence to driving test for Noida applicants with 30 day wait
Book the driving test after day 30 and before the learner licence lapses.

What to bring on test day

Carry the learner’s licence, the appointment slip, ID and the papers of the test vehicle: RC, insurance and PUC. A vehicle with L plates front and back avoids arguments at the gate.

If you fail

You can rebook a repeat test on Sarathi after paying the test fee again. For the manoeuvres examiners look for, read our two wheeler licence test guide.

What licence fees apply at the Noida office?

Licence fees are set centrally under the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, and states can add service charges. The central amounts below apply in Noida too; the portal shows the final total, including any Uttar Pradesh charges, before you pay.

Licence itemCentral fee
Learner’s licence, each vehicle class₹150
Learner’s licence test or repeat test₹50
Driving test or repeat test, each class₹300
Issue of driving licence₹200
Renewal of driving licence₹200
Smart card licence (extra)₹200

Pay only the generated amount

The Sarathi payment screen lists every component. If someone at the office asks for more in cash, ask for a receipt; genuine charges always appear on the portal.

Late renewal

Renewing after the grace period costs ₹300 plus ₹1,000 for each year of delay, so set a reminder well before expiry.

How do you renew a licence through the Noida office?

Licence renewal starts on Sarathi. Choose the Noida office, enter the licence number, upload a medical certificate if your age requires one and pay the fee. Many renewals need no visit; the portal tells you if biometrics or a photo are needed.

Medical certificate

Applicants above a certain age, and those renewing transport licences, attach Form 1A signed by a doctor. The portal asks for it when it applies.

More detail

Validity periods, grace periods and the full form list are in our DL renewal guide.

How do you book a slot at the Noida office?

Slots are booked inside the same application, after payment. The portal shows available dates for the Noida office; pick one, print the slip and keep it for the visit. Changing the slot is possible on most services, within limits shown on screen.

  1. Apply online. Start the service on Vahan for a vehicle or Sarathi for a licence, choosing Uttar Pradesh and the Noida office.
  2. Pay the fee. Pay the amount the portal generates and save the receipt.
  3. Book a slot. Pick an appointment date if the service needs a visit or a test.
  4. Visit with originals. Carry the receipt, originals and self-attested copies to the Sector 32 office.
  5. Track the result. Follow the application number online until the RC or licence is issued.

Busy dates

Slots fill fastest for driving tests. If no date shows, check again early the next morning, when new slots are often released.

Missed slot

If you miss your slot, rebook through the portal. Whether the fee carries over depends on the service, so read the message on screen before paying again.

What documents should you carry to the Noida office?

Carry the online receipt, the appointment slip, originals of every document you uploaded and one set of self-attested photocopies. For vehicle work, bring valid insurance and PUC. For licence work, bring the learner’s licence or old licence.

Documents checklist for a visit to the rto office Noida with receipts and ID proof
The online receipt tells you which originals the counter will check.

Address proof that matches

Aadhaar is the most common address proof. If your Aadhaar still shows a Delhi or Ghaziabad address, update it first, otherwise the Noida office may not accept the application.

Vehicle on loan

For a vehicle under hypothecation, carry the financier’s papers. Closing a loan entry needs Form 35 and the lender’s no-dues letter.

What are the Noida transport office timings?

Published timings disagree. One insurer lists 10 AM to 2 PM; other commercial pages give 9 AM to 5 PM, 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM or 10 AM to 5 PM. Public counter hours may also differ from the office’s working hours.

Use the slip, not the internet

Your appointment slip shows the reporting time for your service. That time is far more reliable than any directory, including this one.

Holidays

Government offices in Uttar Pradesh close on gazetted holidays and Sundays. Check the state holiday list if your slot falls near a festival.

What contact details are listed for the Noida office?

A reproduction of the UP transport telephone directory lists 0120-2505556 for the Gautam Buddha Nagar ARTO (Administration), and an insurer page repeats it. The same directory gives the email [email protected] for Noida; another insurer lists a different address.

Why numbers go stale

Office phone lines change when posts are reorganised, and mobile numbers belong to the post rather than the person. We could not test either contact, so use them only as a first try.

Better routes for problems

For an application problem, the Vahan and Sarathi grievance options create a record. Phone calls do not.

What does re-registering an old UP 16 vehicle cost?

A private vehicle’s registration lasts 15 years and is then renewed for five years at a time. The central renewal fee rose sharply from April 2022; Uttar Pradesh may add tax and service charges on top.

ItemCentral fee
Private car (LMV) renewal₹5,000
Motorcycle renewal₹1,000
Delay, private vehicles₹300 per month
Smart card RC (extra)₹200

Fitness check first

Renewal needs a fitness inspection of the vehicle, so plan for a visit with the vehicle itself. See our page on RC renewal after 15 years fees for the full fee picture.

NCR rules on older vehicles

Delhi NCR has had separate court and pollution rules on old diesel and petrol vehicles. Check the current position before paying to renew an old car you plan to drive in Delhi.

How do you take a UP 16 vehicle to another state?

To move a UP 16 vehicle out of Uttar Pradesh for good, you apply to the Noida office for a no objection certificate. With it, the new state’s office can issue a fresh registration mark. The law gives 12 months before a new number is required.

What the office checks

Before issuing the NOC, the office confirms there is no theft report and that tax and challans are clear. The Act gives the office 30 days to decide.

Our no objection certificate guide explains Form 28, the police report and the documents in detail.

How do you register an outside-state vehicle in Noida?

If you bring a vehicle from another state and keep it in Noida for more than 12 months, you must get a UP 16 number. You file the NOC from the old state with Form 27 and pay Uttar Pradesh road tax for the remaining life.

Tax refund from the old state

Uttar Pradesh does not credit tax you paid elsewhere. You claim a refund for the unused period from the old state’s office after registering in Noida.

Transferable jobs

Employees who move often may prefer the BH series, which avoids re-registration. Our BH registration page explains who qualifies.

How do you check a UP 16 vehicle online?

Type the full number into a Vahan or mParivahan search. The result shows the model, fuel, registering office, registration date and insurance and fitness validity. The owner’s name is partly masked, and the address is never shown publicly.

Before you buy a used car

Match the chassis and engine numbers on the car with the RC, check the insurance date and look up pending challans. A mismatch is a reason to walk away.

Privacy rules

Full owner details are released only to the owner, police or courts. Sites that promise full owner data for a fee are not reliable.

How are traffic challans handled in Gautam Buddha Nagar?

Most fines in the district are issued by traffic police through cameras and handheld devices, and some come from the transport office’s enforcement units. All of them appear on the national e-Challan portal against the vehicle number or licence.

Pay or contest

You can pay online or, if you dispute it, follow the court route shown on the challan. Our e challan guide explains both.

Challans block office work

An unpaid challan can hold up a transfer, NOC or renewal at the Noida office. Clear pending fines before you apply.

Which codes neighbour Noida in western UP?

Noida’s neighbours in the code list are mostly districts of Meerut division. Gautam Buddha Nagar itself was cut out of Ghaziabad and Bulandshahr, so their codes sit right next to UP 16 in the state list.

Older Noida vehicles

Vehicles registered in the area before 1997 may carry Ghaziabad or Bulandshahr codes. The number did not change when the new district was formed.

Delhi and Haryana plates

DL and HR plates are common on Noida roads because many residents work or once lived across the border. Their codes say nothing about where the car is kept today.

Can a Noida resident register a vehicle in Delhi?

Registration follows the owner’s ordinary residence, so a Noida resident normally registers at the UP 16 office. Using a Delhi address you no longer live at can cause trouble with insurance claims, challans and later transfers.

Company-owned vehicles

A vehicle owned by a company is registered at the office for the company’s registered address. That is why some cars kept in Noida carry Delhi or Haryana numbers legitimately.

Rented flats

Tenants can usually use a registered rent agreement or updated Aadhaar as address proof. Check the accepted list on the portal before you apply.

When was Gautam Buddha Nagar district created?

Gautam Buddha Nagar was formed on 9 June 1997 from the Dadri and Bisrakh blocks of Ghaziabad district and the Dankaur and Jewar blocks of Bulandshahr. The new district then received its own transport office and the UP 16 code.

The district in numbers

The district covers about 1,442 sq km, had 1,648,115 people at the 2011 census and sits in Meerut division. Its headquarters is Greater Noida, not Noida.

Growth since then

Industrial estates, the Yamuna Expressway and large housing projects have made it one of the busiest registration districts in the state, which explains the long queues for tests.

What commercial vehicle work does the Noida office handle?

Transporters, cab operators and school bus owners use the Noida office for permits, fitness certificates, tax and transport-vehicle registration. The district’s factories and warehouses along the expressways generate a steady flow of goods-vehicle work.

Fitness inspections

Transport vehicles need regular fitness certificates, and the vehicle must be presented for inspection. Book the slot on Vahan and bring the vehicle in roadworthy condition.

Permits

Permit applications start online too. The office checks the vehicle, the tax status and the route or area requested before approving.

How do you avoid touts and fake RTO sites in Noida?

Agents gather near most transport offices and online. Some are licensed consultants, but none can shorten a legal waiting period or waive a test. Do the application yourself on the portal; it takes less time than most people expect.

Common mistakes when visiting the up 16 rto address and how to fix each one
Most failed visits come from a missing slot or a mismatched address.

Signs of a scam

Be wary of anyone who promises a licence without a test, asks for OTPs or sends payment links on WhatsApp. Real fees are paid only on .gov.in pages.

If you already paid

Report the payment to your bank and the cyber crime helpline portal, and file a grievance on Parivahan. Keep screenshots.

What should you do if a Noida application is stuck?

First check the status on Vahan or Sarathi; the screen usually shows which stage is pending. If it has not moved for weeks, raise a grievance on the portal, then visit the office with the application number and receipt.

Common causes

Typical causes are a mismatched address, an unclear document scan, a pending challan or a missing financier entry. Fixing the cause online is faster than arguing at a counter.

Escalating

If the grievance gets no response, the UP Transport Department and the state’s public grievance portal are the next steps.

Which plate rules apply to UP 16 vehicles?

Vehicles made on or after 1 April 2019 come with high-security registration plates fitted by the dealer, along with a colour-coded third registration sticker. Older UP 16 vehicles follow Uttar Pradesh’s own deadlines for fitting HSRP, which we could not confirm for this page.

Third registration mark

The sticker is light blue for petrol and CNG vehicles and orange for diesel vehicles. It sits on the windscreen and carries the registration details.

Before you pay for a plate

Book HSRP only through the portal linked from the official sites. Plate prices vary by vehicle type and vendor.

Does the BH series replace a UP 16 number?

The BH series is an alternative, not a replacement. Eligible owners, mainly government staff and employees of companies with offices in several states, can choose a BH number instead of UP 16 when they register a new vehicle in Noida.

Who usually stays with UP 16

Most private owners who expect to stay in Uttar Pradesh keep the regular UP 16 registration, paying the state’s lifetime road tax at the start.

Switching later

Converting an existing UP 16 vehicle to BH is subject to the rules on the portal. Check eligibility on Vahan before you start.

RTO noida questions

What is the RTO code of Noida?

Noida uses UP 16. The code belongs to the transport office for Gautam Buddha Nagar district, so it also covers Greater Noida, Dadri and Jewar.

Where is the RTO office in Noida?

Directory listings give Sector 32, opposite NTPC, Noida 201301. We found no government page confirming it, so check the address on your appointment slip or the UP Transport Department site.

Is there a separate RTO office in Greater Noida?

The main published code list shows only UP 16 for the district. Some commercial sites describe a Greater Noida office with UP 18, but we could not confirm it from an official source.

UP 16 is which city?

UP 16 is Noida, in Gautam Buddha Nagar district of western Uttar Pradesh.

What does asst RTO mean?

It is short for Assistant Regional Transport Officer, the officer who runs a district transport office such as Noida's. People also write it as ARTO.

Is there an RTO Noida official website?

No separate site exists for the Noida office. Applications run on parivahan.gov.in through Vahan and Sarathi, and state notices come from the UP Transport Department.

What is the Noida RTO phone number?

A UP transport directory reproduction lists 0120-2505556 for the Gautam Buddha Nagar ARTO (Administration). Directories go out of date, so check it before relying on it.

What are the Noida RTO timings?

Listings disagree, from 10 AM to 2 PM on one insurer page to 10 AM to 5 PM on others. Your appointment slip shows the time that counts.

Can I register my car in Delhi if I live in Noida?

Registration follows the owner's address, so a Noida resident normally registers at the UP 16 office. A vehicle kept in another state for more than 12 months needs a new number there.

Do I need a new number when I move from Noida to Lucknow?

No. Inside Uttar Pradesh you update the address on the RC; the UP 16 number stays on the vehicle.

How do I check a UP 16 vehicle's details?

Enter the full number in a Vahan or mParivahan search. You see the model, office and validity dates, with the owner's name partly masked.

Does the Noida office issue traffic challans?

Most challans in the district come from traffic police devices. The office's enforcement units can also book vehicles, and all of them show up on the e-Challan portal.
