What is the UP 75 RTO?

The UP 75 RTO registers vehicles and issues driving licences for Etawah district. A resident who buys a motorcycle, car, tractor or goods carrier gets a number that opens with UP 75. Car portals name the office the Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Etawah, so in practice it is an ARTO and not a full regional office.

Part of the Kanpur division

Etawah sits in the Kanpur division with Auraiya, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Kanpur Dehat and Kanpur Nagar. The codes for that group run from UP 74 to UP 79, and each district keeps its own office.

Why the ARTO title matters little

For applicants, an ARTO desk does the same daily work as a bigger office: new registrations, transfers and licence tests are all handled in Etawah itself.

UP 75 kahan ka number hai?

Which tehsils use the Etawah RTO code?

Etawah district has six tehsils, and every one of them registers under the single Etawah RTO code, UP 75. The district covers about 2,311 sq km and counted 15,81,810 people in the 2011 Census. There is no second transport number inside the district, so the tehsil only matters for your address proof.

Other towns such as Bakewar, Ekdil, Lakhna and Mahewa also fall inside the district; the address on your RC or Aadhaar decides the tehsil.

Portals list the office simply as Etawah. Pick it whichever of the six tehsils you live in.

Is Saifai under UP 75?

Yes. Saifai is a tehsil of Etawah district, so cars and bikes owned there are registered at the Etawah office and carry UP 75. The town is well known for its airstrip, about 15 km from Etawah city, which handles only unscheduled charter flights. None of that gives it a separate transport code.

Sarsai Nawar and Bakewar

The Sarsai Nawar wetland and the market town of Bakewar are also inside the district, so their vehicles take UP 75 too.

Places that are not Etawah

Auraiya and Bidhuna left Etawah in 1997 to form Auraiya district. Vehicles registered there today get UP 79, not UP 75.

Where is the ARTO office in Etawah?

We could not trace a verified street address or PIN code for the Etawah ARTO. A third-party copy of the UP transport directory gives the ARTO (Administration) landline as 05688-297351 and the email as [email protected]. Spinny shows 0568-8235833 and Monday to Saturday, 10 AM to 5 PM. Treat all of these as leads to confirm.

The appointment slip from Vahan or Sarathi names the office that will see you. The UP Transport Department website also publishes an office list; check it before you set out.

What services does the Etawah transport office handle?

The Etawah office covers the routine transport work of the district: new registration, ownership transfer, RC address change, duplicate RC, hypothecation entries, fitness checks for commercial vehicles, permits and driving licence tests. Applications are filed online, and the counter deals with inspection, testing and document checks.

Vehicle work

Dealers in Etawah enter new registrations straight onto Vahan, so most buyers get a UP 75 number without visiting. Second-hand sales need both buyer and seller details for transfer.

Licence work

Learner and permanent licences go through Sarathi. The driving test happens at the office or its track on the day you book.

How do you start an Etawah RTO application online?

Begin on the national portal rather than at a counter. Choose Vahan or Sarathi, select Uttar Pradesh and then Etawah, complete the form, pay, and book a slot where the service needs one.

1. Choose the portal. Open Vahan for registration, transfer or RC services, or Sarathi for any learner or driving licence task.
2. Set state and office. Pick Uttar Pradesh, then Etawah, which must match the address on your proof documents.
3. Enter details and upload. Fill in the vehicle or applicant fields and attach the scans that the form requests.
4. Pay and save the receipt. Pay the sum the portal shows and download the receipt carrying the application number.
5. Go in on your slot. Visit the Etawah office on the booked day with originals, the receipt and the appointment slip.

The portal works out the charge for each service and vehicle class. We quote no figures here, because the portal total is the amount you actually pay.

Which codes surround UP 75?

On the map, Etawah borders Mainpuri (UP 84), Firozabad (UP 83), Agra (UP 80), Kannauj (UP 74) and Auraiya (UP 79), and Jalaun as well. Bhind in Madhya Pradesh also borders the district, so MP plates are a common sight on Etawah roads.

Expressway and highway traffic

The Agra-Lucknow Expressway, opened on 21 November 2016, runs 302.22 km and crosses Etawah district. Together with NH 19, it brings Agra, Kanpur and Lucknow plates through daily.

What is the Sitapur RTO code?

The Sitapur RTO code is UP 34. Sitapur district lies in the Lucknow division, far from Etawah, and its office registers vehicles from seven tehsils: Sitapur, Biswan, Maholi, Misrikh, Laharpur, Mahmudabad and Sidhauli. The two codes are unrelated; they simply appear together in many search lists.

Khairabad, Hargaon, Paintepur and Misrikh Neemsar are among the Sitapur towns whose vehicles carry UP 34.

Not to be confused with UP 35

The next number, UP 35, belongs to Unnao. A one-digit slip sends you to a different district.

What is the Kushinagar RTO code?

The Kushinagar RTO code is UP 57, issued from the office at Padrauna in the Gorakhpur division. Kushinagar was carved out of Deoria on 13 May 1994; it was first called Padrauna district and was renamed Kushinagar on 19 June 1997, which is why the office still carries the old name.

The district’s tehsils are Padrauna Sadar, Khadda, Kushinagar (Kasia), Hata, Tamkuhiraj and Kaptanganj.

Why Padrauna appears on records

A Vahan search for a UP 57 plate may show Padrauna as the registering authority. That is the same Kushinagar office.

How do you read a UP 75 number plate?

Take UP 75 BX 3190 as a sample. UP names the state, 75 names the Etawah office, BX is the series and 3190 is the vehicle’s running number inside it. Only the first four characters reveal where registration happened.

Older UP 75 plates in Auraiya

Before 1997, Auraiya was part of Etawah. An older Auraiya-owned vehicle registered at Etawah before that split may carry UP 75; the Vahan record will show which office issued it.

How can you check a UP 75 vehicle online?

Enter the full number in Vahan or the mParivahan app. The public result gives the registering authority, vehicle class, fuel, and insurance and fitness validity, with the owner’s name partly masked. For a genuine UP 75 vehicle, the authority should read Etawah.

A mismatch to question

If a UP 75 plate shows Mainpuri or Kannauj as the authority, ask why. Compare the chassis number on the RC with the one stamped on the frame.

Before a used purchase

Confirm the insurance and PUC dates and look for pending challans on the same record.

Is UP 75 the same as HR 75, PB 75 or WB 75?

No. HR 75 is Indri in Haryana’s Karnal district, PB 75 is Lehragaga in Punjab, HP 75 is Jubbal in Himachal Pradesh and WB 75 is Katwa in West Bengal. They share the digits but not the state. Only UP 75 means Etawah.

Read the letters first

The two letters fix the state and the digits fix the office within it, so the order of reading matters.

What happens when a UP 75 vehicle moves away?

Under Section 47 of the Motor Vehicles Act, a vehicle kept in another state for more than 12 months needs a new registration mark there. The owner takes a no objection certificate from the Etawah office, then registers in the new state. A move inside Uttar Pradesh is simpler.

Shifting within UP

The UP 75 number stays if you move to Kanpur or Agra. Section 49 asks you to report the new address within 30 days through Vahan.
